What bookkeeping costs with us
Monthly bookkeeping with SF Business Solutions starts at $250 a month, and cleanup starts at $250, with the final price depending on how far behind the books are.
Starting prices
Your quote depends on volume and complexity. These are the prices it starts from.
CPA firms and other B2B partners pay $12–$15 an hour, and a full-time accountant starts at $1,500 a month.
How each service is priced
Each service is priced by the unit that matches the work, so you can compare us with anyone else.
- Monthly bookkeeping: a monthly fee, from $250 a month
- Cleanup and catch-up: from $250, depending on how far behind the books are
- Work for CPA firms and other B2B partnerships: $12–$15 an hour
- A full-time accountant: from $1,500 a month
- Payroll, and tax returns we prepare and file: quoted alongside your bookkeeping, based on headcount and the returns you need
What moves the price
Revenue matters less than you might think. What drives the work, and so the price, is how much there is to record and reconcile each month.
- Number of transactions per month
- Number of bank, credit card and payment accounts to reconcile
- Number of entities, such as several LLCs that each need their own books
- Accrual-basis books, inventory or job costing
- Payroll headcount and states
- How far behind the books are when we start
Catching up first
If your books are behind when we start, bringing them up to date is cleanup work. It starts at $250, and the final price depends on how many months are missing and how much needs fixing. We look at your books on the free consult before we quote it, so you know that cost before the monthly work begins.
For CPA firms: hourly or full-time
Firms that hand us white-label bookkeeping, month-end close or tax-season work pay $12–$15 an hour, which suits volume that rises and falls through the year. Firms with steady work can instead add a full-time accountant, from $1,500 a month.
Bookkeeping and tax together
Many clients have us do both. We keep the books and prepare and file the return, so the return is built from reconciled numbers and there's no year-end handoff to chase. We quote tax preparation and filing when we quote your bookkeeping.
