More capacity for your firm, without hiring for every busy season
SF Business Solutions works behind US CPA and accounting firms: we do client bookkeeping under your firm's name, prepare tax returns for your review, and supply dedicated accountants who work as part of your team.
Work for firms is billed at our B2B rate of $12–$15 an hour, and a full-time accountant starts at $1,500 a month.
Three ways to work with us
Most firms start with one of three arrangements and add the others as they grow. The difference is who manages the work day to day.
- White-label bookkeeping: we keep your clients' books each month and hand you the close. Your clients see only your firm.
- Tax preparation: we prepare returns and workpapers from your client files, and your reviewers sign off. Useful for the March and April peaks and the September and October extension season.
- Dedicated staff: one accountant, or a small team, assigned to your firm. You direct their work like any other staff member.
What handing us the work changes in your numbers
The saving comes from paying for the hours the work takes instead of carrying the salary, benefits, software and training of a US hire through the quiet months. Whether it pays off depends on your fees: if you bill a bookkeeping client more than our cost plus the time your team spends reviewing, the difference is margin.
A simple way to test it: take five of your monthly bookkeeping clients, add up what you bill them, subtract what the work would cost with us and the review hours you would still spend, and compare that with what those clients earn you today.
How pricing models compare
Across the market, providers price firm work in three ways. Per-client pricing suits many similar bookkeeping clients, because cost follows revenue. Hourly pricing follows the actual work, which suits a mix of bookkeeping, tax and project work. A monthly fee for a full-time person suits steady volume and one accountant who learns your clients.
Our pricing for firms is simple: $12–$15 an hour for B2B partnerships, covering white-label work and dedicated staff, or a full-time accountant from $1,500 a month.
Before you sign with any provider
Ask how client data is accessed and stored, who will actually do the work, how work is reviewed before it reaches you, and how you get your files back if you leave. Read the contract for the notice period, who owns the work papers, and what happens to client data at the end.
Red flags: no written confidentiality terms, staff sharing logins, prices that only appear after a long sales process, and a provider that cannot explain how it gets the Section 7216 consent your offshore tax work needs. Whoever you choose, test them on a few clients before moving more.
A licensed CPA on our side
SF Business Solutions is a bookkeeping firm, not a CPA firm, but our team includes one licensed CPA, which helps when your reviewers want to talk through a technical question. Audits themselves are available through our professional CPA partner firms.
