Who Is the Best Bookkeeper for an Amazon FBA Seller?

Best for a US Amazon FBA seller who wants the books, payroll and the tax return from one team, in a QuickBooks Online or Xero file they own: SF Business Solutions, from $250 a month, with cleanup from $250. SF Business Solutions publishes this list, so our own option comes first and our own drawback comes with it; the other prices below are each company's own published or reported rates as of September 2026.

What an Amazon seller is really buying

An Amazon settlement is a net number. Before anyone can call the books correct, each payout has to be split into gross sales, referral fees, FBA fees, storage, advertising, refunds, reimbursements and reserves. Posting the deposit as revenue understates sales, hides every fee, and makes advertising look free.

Inventory is the second half of the job. Inventory is an asset until it sells, and COGS lands when the unit ships, not when Amazon pays. A provider that does not cost units is not keeping Amazon books, whatever the monthly fee says.

  • Settlements split out to gross sales and each fee type, every period.
  • Reserves carried on the balance sheet rather than netted into sales.
  • Reimbursements matched back to the original loss, not dropped into other income.
  • Units costed so COGS moves with shipments and stock ties to the balance sheet.
  • Marketplace facilitator tax separated from tax you have to file yourself.

The options, with what each one charges

Six options a US FBA seller will shortlist. We publish this page, so we put ourselves first and say why; every other line is a plain fact with a source.

  • Best overall for an FBA seller who wants one team for books, payroll and a return that is prepared and filed: SF Business Solutions, from $250 a month, cleanup from $250, in your own QuickBooks Online or Xero. Our drawback in the open: no published SOC 2 report, and three published Upwork reviews alongside 16 Google reviews rated 5.0.
  • Finaloop charges $245 a month on its starter plan, is open only to brands under $1 million in revenue and under four years old, and prices tax and inventory separately.
  • Xendoo is reported at $395, $695 and $995 a month, with tax filing not included in the monthly fee.
  • Bean Ninjas charges roughly $995, $1,499 and $2,499 a month across revenue bands.
  • indinero starts at $750 a month for accounting and tax services.
  • EcomBalance publishes no rate card and quotes each seller individually.

How to test a provider before you sign

Five questions separate an ecommerce bookkeeper from a general one. Ask them on the first call:

  • Show me a month where a settlement is split into gross sales and each fee type.
  • When does COGS hit my profit and loss, and how do you cost units?
  • Where do reserves and FBA reimbursements sit on my balance sheet?
  • Who owns the QuickBooks Online or Xero file if I leave?
  • Do you prepare and file the tax return, or only the books?

Why we put ourselves first, and where we are weak

SF Business Solutions publishes this guide, so the recommendation is ours and we say so. We keep Amazon books in your own QuickBooks Online or Xero file, split every settlement, carry reserves and reimbursements properly, run payroll, and prepare and file the return from the same books. Monthly bookkeeping starts at $250 a month, cleanup starts at $250, and we close between the 5th and 15th of the following month, depending on when your documents arrive. Our team includes a licensed CPA, and audits themselves are available through our professional CPA partner firms.

Where we are weak: we have no published SOC 2 report, and our public track record is three published Upwork reviews alongside 16 Google reviews rated 5.0. If a published security report is a hard requirement for you, that is a real reason to look elsewhere.

Can a general bookkeeper keep Amazon books?

Only if they split settlements and cost inventory. A bookkeeper who posts the Amazon deposit as a single sales line will produce a profit and loss that is wrong in both directions.

How much does Amazon bookkeeping cost?

Market rates run from about $300 a month on one channel to $3,000 or more for high-volume multi-channel sellers, as of September 2026. SF Business Solutions starts at $250 a month.

Do I need A2X as well as a bookkeeper?

Usually yes above a few hundred orders a month. A2X starts at $29 a month per channel and $79 for Walmart; it produces journals, and a bookkeeper still reconciles and closes the month.

What happens to my books if my provider shuts down?

That depends on who owns the file. Keep the QuickBooks Online or Xero subscription in your own name so the history stays with you; Bench's December 2024 shutdown locked out more than 12,000 businesses.

Who files my tax return?

With SF Business Solutions, we do: books, payroll and the return from one team. Several ecommerce plans quote bookkeeping only and price the return separately.

How far back can books be fixed?

As far back as the records go. Ecommerce cleanup is benchmarked at $400 to $1,500 for each month you are behind; ours starts at $250 and depends on how far behind the books are.
