Bookkeeping for small businesses in the Tampa Bay area
SF Business Solutions keeps the books for small businesses across the Tampa Bay area, including Tampa, Riverview, Gibsonton and Brandon.
We do monthly bookkeeping, cleanup, payroll and tax preparation in QuickBooks Online or Xero, and the work runs remotely, so you get the same service wherever your business is in the Bay area.
What we do for Tampa Bay businesses
Most of our Florida clients come to us for one of three reasons: the owner is doing the books at night, a bookkeeper has left, or the books are months behind and a tax deadline is coming. We take the books over, bring them up to date and keep them current every month.
You keep your own QuickBooks Online or Xero account. We work inside it, so your data stays in your software and you can see everything we do.
- Monthly bookkeeping and bank and card reconciliation
- Cleanup and catch-up when the books are behind
- Payroll, 1099s and sales tax filings
- Business tax returns prepared and filed
How the work gets done
Your bank and credit card feeds come straight into QuickBooks Online or Xero. We categorize transactions, reconcile every account to its statement and ask you about anything we can't place. We close each month between the 5th and 15th of the following month, depending on when your statements and documents arrive, and you get a profit and loss statement, a balance sheet and a cash flow statement.
Our Florida business address is in Gibsonton, and our team is distributed across the US and internationally. Because everything runs through your accounting software and shared documents, it makes no difference whether you're in downtown Tampa, Riverview or Brandon, and we serve businesses across the United States the same way.
Florida taxes we keep in order
Florida has no personal income tax, which keeps things simpler for many owners, but there is still plenty to track. C corporations file a Florida corporate income tax return (Form F-1120). Most businesses that sell taxable goods or services collect Florida sales tax, which is the 6% state rate plus any county surtax, and remit it to the Florida Department of Revenue. Employers file quarterly reemployment tax reports.
We record these correctly in your books so the filings match, and we prepare and file them as part of our tax and payroll work.
What it costs
Monthly bookkeeping starts at $250 a month. If your books are behind, cleanup starts at $250, and the final price depends on how far behind the books are. The main things that move the monthly price are how many transactions you have, how many bank and card accounts we reconcile, and whether you run payroll or hold inventory. See our pricing page for the full breakdown.
QuickBooks and Xero help
Our team holds the QuickBooks Online Certified ProAdvisor and QuickBooks Online Advanced certifications, and the Xero Advisor and Xero Payroll certifications. That covers setting up a clean chart of accounts, moving from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online, and fixing a file that has drifted out of balance.
