Books that were a mess, rebuilt
The client arrived with books that had gone wrong and could not be filed from.
SF Business Solutions rebuilt them month by month, reconciled every account back to the last correct balance, and then prepared and filed the returns. Best for a business whose books cannot be filed from as they stand: cleanup starts at $250, and the final price depends on how far behind the books are.
The situation
Books go wrong quietly. Transactions get coded to whatever account was nearest, transfers get counted as income, and the balance sheet stops matching the bank. By the time anyone looks properly, a year of decisions has been built on numbers that were never right.
The client needed the history fixed before the year end, not patched.
What the cleanup involved
The work was done in order, oldest month first, so each month closed on numbers that were already right.
- Every bank, card and loan account reconciled back to the last month that was correct.
- Missing entries added and miscategorised ones fixed, month by month rather than in bulk.
- Duplicates cleared, and transfers separated from income so revenue is not double counted.
- Opening balances checked against the last filed return.
- A profit and loss and balance sheet the return could actually be prepared from.
What changed
The client went from a file nobody trusted to one that reconciles. Monthly bookkeeping then keeps it that way, from $250 a month, and the same team prepares and files the return.

How far back can you go?
As far as the records allow. Most banks keep statements online for several years, and we rebuild month by month from there.
What does cleanup cost?
It starts at $250. The price depends on how many months are affected and how many accounts need reconciling.
A deadline is close. What then?
Tell us the deadline when you send your statements. We can file an extension while the books are rebuilt, then prepare and file the return.
Do we have to move software?
No. We work in your own QuickBooks Online or Xero file.
